Today is a hot Day here in Melbourne- always good for Moomba Festival (I challenge you to look it up if you don't know about it). It is also Labour Day today here in Victoria so Tony and the kids are here at hospital again with me which is awesome. We're going to head down to the cafe and play cards in a bit to get me up and do my daily marathon around the hospital wards.
I feel pretty good overall...the body is amazing. I am only on Panadol and anti inflammatory tablets which is pretty good I thought.
Each of the nurses have come in and selected their favourite flowers....each of them enjoying all the wonderful smells. I love sitting and staring at them and listening to my music.
Off to whoop the family's butt in card games.
Thanks again for persevering on the IT side of things. I am hoping that my phone gets fixed up in coming day or two. I have been told by friends that there are LOTS of messages and texts on there waiting for me. So I look forward to receiving all those...soon!
Kindly,
LT

ReplyDeleteI knew it would only take a minute for you to get your competitive juices flowing again! Probably a good time for your phone to have a hiccup anyway, between that and recovering during a weekend and a holiday you might've almost got some less stress rest.
Love, LT
LT I wrote this in email and then just cut and paste - will test to see if it works before I tap out a long note!! xxxxC
ReplyDeleteYay it worked. Thank you for your updates - so glad you are enjoying the flowers and also not in too much pain. Have been thinking of you a lot as I go about my day and am reminded of your strength and courage that you always display and feel that the big C has certainly chosen a fighter to duel with! Glad you are advocating for yourself as you navigate the medical system! Re the hair loss, short = funky in my opinion (!) if you know you are going to loose it maybe Keely can recommend a short style to have first - would be fun to see what you look like with a 'Clare' hair cut!?! Lots of love to you all and I hope to pop in on Sunday after Joanna's wedding - will be in touch closer. xxxxClare
ReplyDeleteHeh there LT glad the support crew were with you today. I'm loving the blog no surprise really as you continue to give to us through pics and posts. One more sleep and you will know what next and you can plan your attack and we are with you all the way. Big love to you! Love Nic xoxo
ReplyDeleteCorrection LT...2 more sleeps! Oops xo
ReplyDeleteHi Laurice - Good news you are walking around the hospital. Sounds like you may well have been the Code Grey Keeley was talking about. :) Love you heaps, see you soon. Sue. xxx
ReplyDeleteHi Laurice,
ReplyDeleteGot your message today and hope that you are doing well. All the comments shows that things have gone very well and in your usual style you are helping us know what's going on through great commentry! Keep positive, think happy thoughts and know that our thoughts are with you.
Raigan, Dean and the kids.
Hello there LT, so happy to read your news. Am proud of you for being on panadol after two days. The body is a remarkable thing. Re your hair falling out, I agree with Clare.... short = funky and sexy, isn't that right Aunty Sharon. You wear short hair well. Anyway, let's cross that bridge if and when we come to it. We are having a semi busy week. Am off to Canberra on Thursday for work, back Friday then Steve and I are doing the Kokoda Grunt where we will torture ourselves with a 13km run and 26 obstacles and loads of mud and they mentioned leeches and ticks. Anyway we will be tackling the obstacles like WARRIORS for you LT. Somehow we are going to fight this thing head on with you. We shall send photos and trust me when something scares the CRAP out of me (like the live electrical wires we have to run through) I will think of you and say to myself "suck it up girlfriend and do it for LT". We will send photos.
ReplyDeleteYOu hang in there and get some more REST. Hopefully they will not move you again. Am loving the photos of you and all the flowers..... Awesome. Must run, sending hugs and positive vibes and well wishes. Keep the posts coming, we are loving being able to read some of your thoughts. xxxxxxxxx Ronja and Steve
Oh and one more thing, the kids send their love. I kind of told them you were in hospital but that opens the door to lots of questions and Kade your little god son asked me why you were in hospital and I told him you had sore boobies (I Know not the best explanation) and then he said to me: "Did she have too many lollies?"..... Don't ask... although what sort of a parent am I??? Where does he get that from :-)
ReplyDeleteOK, this is my third attempt to leave this message, and it is with steely determination that I push forward, gaining perseverance and strength from your example! I will not be deterred by the blog demons from getting my message to you! :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy to see you up and about and enjoying your coffee with that wonderful smile that I love! My thoughts and prayers are with you and will be doubled on Wednesday. Take care of yourself and don't over do it! I love you!
We'll have to talk about Ronja and her parenting later? :-). Now I'm off to prove I'm not a robot!
Sharon
LT, I find myself checking this blog at every turn, my virgin (!) attempt at blogging. So am doing pretty well I think with being able to hang with everyone in posting :) So very good to hear the positive part of pain control, and that you are marathoning (is that a word?) around the hospital. I'm sure each and every ward and nurses station knows who you are and where you "reside". Love it! I'm off to the treadmill in a few, nothing near as strenuous as Ronja and Steve (electrical wires? really? ayyyaah!) Although I feel like I partially know them from your correspondence and stories over the years, Marge is the only one I've actually met. That was at Marlene's quite a few years ago.....Take care, continue to get some needed rest, don't overdo it, panadol is, after all, panadol :) Clinking you, your flowers and your Tony, Keeley and Zac. Love you LT, YVVVGBB, DAV :)
ReplyDeleteHey there Laurice - you've been in my prayers and on my heart. So glad to see you doing well and up to some mischief (i.e. room change - i'd like to have seen that:)) mmm hair styles - time for something spunky, cheeky and smart to match your wonderful personality. We missed you Friday at IWD high tea - it was a great afternoon just NQR without you there. What an amazing legacy re your time as Victorian/Tasmania President. As Crolyn said in her speech - "I've got some pretty big shoes to fill". Are you up for visitors? Love Jano
ReplyDeleteGosh, I have never blogged before and finding myself somewhat IT challenged.... Hi LT, great to read your recovery from Op was good. I have a number of tattoo designs I am keen to share that would well match your new hairstyles.. Eat heaps of organic parsley and when you are up for an interesting read, try this http://extremelongevity.net/wp-content/uploads/C60-Fullerene.pdf
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to Wednesday's results and hoping there will be good news. Lots of Love Karen S xx
